‘Giving the People's Garden some Tender Loving Care’.

25th July 2023

We are, today, delighted to launch our Crowdfunding Appeal in partnership with the Aviva Community Fund.

Birkenhead Park received good news earlier this year when it was announced that it had been included on the UK’s UNESCO World Heritage Site tentative list. Wirral Council, with the involvement of the Friends and other stakeholders, must now persuade the UK government to choose and put forward the Park for inscription as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The crowdfunding appeal website, https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/p/friends-of-birkenhead-park-in-action,  explains the range of activities that the Friends carry out for the benefit of the Park, the Edward Kemp Community Garden and for Events in the Park.

The appeal, which is open ended, will, for the first six weeks, be match funded £2 for every £1 for single contributions of up to £250 for the first £2,500 pledged. Within the six-week frame, if the total £5,000 match is reached then contributions will be matched £1for £1 by the Aviva Community Fund. After six weeks there will be no further match funding so the earlier donations are collected, the more the Friends will receive.

Any donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully received and will redound to the benefit of the Park and the community it serves.

If you are unable to donate through the Bank link, then please contact a member of the Friends by email at admin@fbp.org.uk or text/ring 07891977337.

We look forward to your continued support, thank you.
